A lot of the people who knows me well and/or have worked with me that anything i do i do the XML way. XML is a really Neat syntax, it holds any type of data and even in massive quantity and again it is neat. I started off using xml to help me keep away from mysql queries as far as possible when display a content to 1000’s of users.

With the new hiscore you can expect most things on the front end displayed by the help of xml.
With this method, you can use it as APIs to do some neat stuff,(don’t want to tell you atm, ill keep it a secret), all that you need to know is that you can use it on your site.

Like I said before the new hiscore is going to be revolutionary and something not yet done.
I did say that it will have cool features and design, and just recently I watched this small documentary on design, these words came up so many times: “simplicity” and “functionality”. These word gave me a new horizon when coding the interface and realised, its not how cool the feature work, but it is how good it work.
When coding this morning, I kept making it simple at first and made it work “right”, the way it needs to work. The hiscore will be hopefully up in a few weeks. We will take aboard 2-3 BETA users. Side comment: no its not an ajax app that starts as beta and never gets out of beta. The beta testing will test for bugs, functionality, and understandibilty. If i get at least 1 PM asking on how to add, there are 2 reasons, the beta user is quite dumb or I made it too complex.

What i am looking in a beta tester?
#The ability to report back any errors even the small ones
#A guess of what might have caused the error
#Taking full advantage of the system

What am i doing atm?
Well i am mostly working on the DB structure and how it is going to interconnect with each other. I am also going back to that “1 class a day” move to keep the work doing. I will try to get fk4 and b3f to start working on utility classes and remote scripts.

The main worry atm, is can i keep the quality as high, and get it done in time?

My worst 2 weeks of my life,
1. apparently i have 2-3 coursework due in, surprise!, why couldn’t she tell us before the holidays
2. University interview just before the deadline for the coursework, probably won’t have time to finish the coursework.
3. friend got meningitis, just learnt about it today, but he had it for 2 weeks, hope he is OK
4. Runescape change highscore, and screwed up the hiscore server for clans, meaning everyone using it is gone to another alternative. So i got to work on that after coursework.
5. Runescape kept changing stuff
6. Too many people asks for help on msn, who i don’t even know

Eh that’s it

I will stop coding for a few days until i sort my college stuff up and get my University application up.

I am not too happy with the forums, 1000 members and 980 of them don’t posts.
maybe with time people will start posting, if someone could tell me why they are not posting I will try my best to fix it.

We are taking our time on releasing the new hiscore because we don’t want any bugs on the system or any errors. We want to release it in one go so that later one we do not loose any data when updating.
We want it to be nearl flawless and near perfect.
