May take a bit more time than predicted

The hiscore and the new systems may take a bit more time than predicted due to some problems. FK4 and bo3oof would need to understand how the system works asap so that they can help out on it.

Drop menu

Just finished creating the drop menu javascript. I can say that it was very long and i had loads of errors.
Well anyways the development stalled because of that and it may take a bit more time than planned

The New System

First of all, I would like to say hello to all IceFuzion members.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m Footballkid4, the new PHP dev for IFz. Currently, Nitr021, Bo3, and myself are working on the classes for the new IceFuzion system. IceFuzion (and all of its staff) are working as hard as possible to get this new system up and running ASAP.

The new system will help the staff:

  1. Process bug reports
  2. Give topic-related and helpful feedback
  3. Control more around the site

The new system will help the users:

  1. Organize their clan
  2. Manage clan highscores
  3. Manage clans in general
  4. Get more RuneScape help

We hope to get this new system up and running in a few weeks. The new system should also have a contact form where you can get in touch with a PHP dev or staff member to report bugs. If at all possible, I would want to get a ticket-system or a chat room where a staff member will be active to help with you request, and if one isn’t available, a bot would assist you in your problems. If this happens, it will come as part of the new system…

What we got so far on the new hiscore?; & a few things

We changed the database and also I completed the quick add feature with some cool javascript effect. I will get fkid4 on saturday to add some more stuff. Only thing atm that is pulling me back is some drop down menu system that i need done.

what i am going to work next:
I am going to finish off all forms that needs to be filled in roughly and then start adding features to it like some cool js effect. Like I said before we are fully working on the user experience and removing the complexity of a system. Our aims are to make it simple, and as easy as possible to use.

Problems we have atm and we know about:
I just recently found out that the admin template that i am using is not working well on IE(internet explorer). I will get a few people with IE7 BETA to check if it looks well, as i am not going to bother much on IE6 compability as IE7 is just around the corner

the rate of work
The speed i am working at is quite fast, i work on a class a day or at least 1/2 a class. By saturday I will be able to get some contact with fk4 and b3f about their classes. I will assign fk4 to help me build the CMS while b3f will be helping on the hiscore implementation.

By Sunday
Hopefully we will have 2/3 of the script working ok and it would be online on our test folder. Our dev team will be on it and we will have our seperate folder to work on. And I will open an Beta testing registration by tuesday or so.

I think that is it for 2days blog. I will try to get the other Devs to start bloging and loging their work so you may hear from us more. :)

footballkid4 joins the dev team

footballkid4 a good php dev on ifz  has joined the team to work on  the new systems.

He is working on a few projects on his own and also on ifz, he will be helping me on the classes and other scripting bits when i show him how the system works.

Would everyone welcome him like you did to bo3oof.

Core files done

Our main core files are done for now, I will be adding to it when needed. The core file is a set of classes to manage our system pages and pulling everything together. It is quite extensive and big. I am now going to start working on the actual pages and its content and some js work to make it look cool
