For the past 1 year and a bit I had been with tiscali. Every now and then the service gets really poor and when I phone in and complain about the service and that I am going to cancel, the issue is then fixed within a few days but it then happens again 2-3 days later.
The issues started on day 1 and every 2-3 months the service just get poor again. And by service I mean internet connection and speed.
I’ve had enough of tiscali and all it’s crap technical support.
Here are a few lot of their issues that I faced:
- first day I get broadband with them i face server down time and when it is fixed the router they sent me doesn’t want to work. So i used my internal ADSL modem.
- 2-3 months later they upgrade me without notice and i lose connection for a while.
- I also get regular warning emails when I download 1gb of files in a day or so.
- When they upgraded the line to support 4mb it fucked up my connection
- I upgraded to 2mb a few weeks later on and I was paying £22.00 or something like that for 20gb limit and then they upgrade it to unlimited and got me to follow the fair usage policy.
- Now since september from 6-11pm I am experiencing MAJOR slow connection and dns errors.
- In November I couldn’t access no https:// sites between 6-11pm
- between those time atm I can access only a few sites as the rest of the sitest that I want to visit are either slow at loading or never loads at all.
The solution to all of this is to switch to a different provider, one that is reliable and has customer support within britain and not outsourced to india. So I asked for my MAC code so that I could switch to BT total broadband.
Oh yah, also they tried to offer me a lower price for my internet connection which I refused while explaining why. They also wanted me to contact technical support about it, which I refused.
Oh I also asked them if I could acces my emails even after they canceled and they said no, and also that all the emails will be deleted after I cancel. That is justb bullshit, aol offers you 1 month of access to your email even if it got canceled so that you can make the changes to your personal services incase it is needed. It’s pretty bullshit now, I got 2 people who uses tiscali to switch to something else.
Now I only need to wait till next wednesday or upto friday for my new router+new isp.
Advise to all, don’t get Tiscali Broadband or any of their service.
