Guide: How to add a custom profile field in IP.Board 2.2.x

This guide will show you how to go about to setup a custom profile field for IP.Board 2.2.x. The custom profile field is nifty little feature on IP.Board which allows you to create a field for your users to input a certain information about themselves in the registration form or just an optional information to display to other users.

Requirements:

1. Admincp access
2. IP.Board 2.2.x (works also on 2.1.x)

First you have to log into your admincp which you can find a link to in your member bar on your board. Now that you have logged into the admincp, navigate to the management tab. On the left hand side there should be a box with the heading Users & Groups and in that box there should be link with the caption custom profile field. Press that link.

Now you can see the list of the current profile fields your board currently have, if you have not installed any yet you  would not see anything. Now press add new field to start creating your own field. Now you fill in the form following the simple onscreen description next to each field. After you have filled it in press Add field. Now you have successfully installed a custom profile field to allow your users to enter more information about themeselves.
