Attention all. There seem to be an issue with the files not building the cache.

To solve this please chmod :

• /sources/components_acp/minerva.php
• /sources/components_acp/setting_plugins/minerva.php
• /modules/minerva/
• /modules/minerva/forumlist.php

To Chmod 755 or 777 depending on your host.

 Once this is done please re-save the settings in the admincp > components> minervaseo > url settings

Minerva SEO Alpha 0.0.1 is near its release, well actually we are just finalising any bugs found on http://icelabz.net/demo/.

The new IPB skin rocks!

I really like the color used for the template, it makes it really slick and pro.

It even has a new icon set for the skin, which is great, but yet the css file is still massive. Which is just as bad as the old one when customising. Well that’s just a guess, I’ll just have to wait until I can download a copy and play with it myself. I believe this is hopefully going to help users who are using the easy mode on css editing for the board.

I’ll probably release a new version of the skinning guide with added revisions if needed for the new ip.board 2.3.x

Recently I posted an entry on the development of a class to allow me to build sitemap xml for search engines.  In this entry I am just going to give a quick update on the class and then tell you guys what’s coming up next.

ATM the class can generate simple XML sitemaps for simple use with any package. The only thing missing is the ability to generate gzips of the files and generate an index page for the xml files. This will be added when it will be needed, but for now I want to get something up for minerva.

What’s Next

Tomorrow and sunday I will be working on minerva SEO to try deliver a downloadable package which will be in the very end of the alpha stage (feature acceptance). I hope I do get something small up that will work on all platforms and different versions of php as well as apache.

Which would be better to seperate keywords in url? underscores or dashes. By dashes I mean the minus sign like so: -

From what I read from a few articles is that google take words that are underscored as one whole word for example I have  a a url with this title “seperate keywords now” and if I underscored it like so “seperate_keywords_now” google and other search engines tends to count them as one word. But if you use the dash sign like “-” you would get something like this “seperate-keywords-now” and search engines will consider each division of the words as individuals.

I cannot seem to find the link to the article as I may have read it somewhere without booking it but, when I do find it i’ll post it up.

BTW I have just bought a book on seo for php, and I will review it once i go through the book tomorrow when it arrives. and anything that I find useful out of the book I will include it in minerva seo module before a release. again thanks for being patient with me on this
