Hi all, this is another small progress log on MSEO and it’s aim for ALPHA 0.0.4 release.

In the following release I am aiming to complete and improve the robots.txt so that it can be used properly. At the moment I am trying to generate a robots.txt in the right location, if not I will just have to explain on how to edit the robots.txt so that it works. I am also aiming on cleaning up the admincp by removing anything that is not working or cannot be understood by anyone.

Currently the robots.txt is working a bit funny so I have added a few more detailed links in there with a few edits to make it work. The next thing to do is to clean up the admincp as it is quite messy. Than I am aiming on getting only the topics URL to FURL which will be totally customisable (i hope that the system I design works).

A little more about the furl

This time around all the url parsing will be done via PHP, thus it will be more flexible to work with. The next release will hopefully allow you to add your own prefix and suffix to the topic URL. The reason onto why I have chosen to do FURL for topics is because this is where the main content is located.

Also I will be starting to develop on IPB 2.3.x from now on as I was before playing with ipb 2.2.2. then porting it to ipb 2.3.x but as this seems out of sync with the majority of ipb users it is wise for me to go and develop it on ipb 2.3.x. Don’t worry ipb 2.2.2 is still supported but I may sometimes ignore testing it thoroughly on that version as it should work on both ipb 2.2.x and 2.3.x.

If you have not noticed yet I will be aiming on releasing downloads for MSEO around Tuesdays or Wednesdays as on weekends I only compile the package and test it out thoroughly on my live board so that I am assured that the features are working properly.
