Minerva seo 0.0.4 near release just cleaning up, adding a few small touches and writing documentation

I am so happy to announce that Minerva SEO 0.0.4 will be released soon. In this version you will be happy to hear that FURL is back and faster.

The estimated time of release will be 48 hours after I have installed it on icelabz.net/forum

More about the furl

This time around all the url replacement are centralised, analysed, categoried and processed in a few lines to allow external hacks to be included within minerva easily. This means that adding your own furl links for your modules are possible but this feature still needs improvement. This design process took me 2 weeks to design and write up and that is why there were no sooner release. The good news with this system is that process of parsing the url is so fast that it will feel as if nothing happened to your board’s page loading time.

What about characters with accent or the foreign ones?

That is sorted with a function I adapted from wordpress’ sources which already has a good list of them already coded. And if that is not enough you can add your own characters to be replaced. Like Arabic characters.

Sitemaps?

That will be ameliorated from its current state to include FURL links and other nifty modification to make it better.

Meta data?

That is working just fine, I am just including a few more edits in it to fix a few page duplication that may occur.

What about topic layouts like outline, linearplus?

Well that one is still a work in progress but the linear plus version work as good as linear standard layout.

What are the pages that are crawlable?

At the moment it is:

  • topic multipages
  • forum
  • forum multipages

I am planning on increasing the list to other pages but it is unnecessary atm as the main content of your forum are the one listed above.
