I came back home today to hear that MGS4 limited edition is to be released in the UK, I was happy to hear about this. But when my bro mention it was £80 I was guttered, I pre-ordered my limited edition from America at a a cheaper value (£51) from gamestop.com. Whereas if I got it from play.com the uk’s official seller for MGS4 limited edtion I would have paid £80.

I’ve done some digging and compared both.
Play.com doesn’t give a great deal of detail, and I can surely tell you that you may be getting less for what you are bargaining for.

Here is my comparison:

Play.com at £80 you get:

  • the game
  • 6″ Old Snake ‘Olive Drab’ action figure
  • “The Making Of Metal Gear Solid 4″ documentary on Blu-ray Disc
  • Official Metal Gear Solid 4 soundtrack

Great but how does it compare to gamestop.com’s £51 limited edition:

  • the Game
  • An interconnected history of all the “Snakes” (well worth it, I have been having trouble following it since MGS vr)
  • Compendium of the MGS4 Guns of the Patriots trailers (not really sure how this is beneficial…)
  • exclusive artwork by famed Kojima Productions (well that beats an action figure, I rather not have anyone walk into my room and say, “damn you look like them geeks that collect action figure”, not saying that I am not, but you know I do go out of my room…)
  • additional Blu-ray disc featuring two “making of” documentaries (TWO? well play.com doesn’t really mention anything about two, i rather have two than one, what if one of the disc had full of semi-naked girls interviewing Kojima and are more interested in you than Kojima? Well I better be sure of not missing that)
  • Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Soundtrack CD

So really, weigh your choice before getting this ridiculous £80 disc at play.com

Oh one more thing, i will get my pre-order 2 days after the release, which I do not mind. But I dunno about you guys.
